Shelby, Ohio (July 12, 2017) – Phillips Tube Group, industry leaders in the manufacture of high quality, welded steel tubing, announced today that it has purchased the assets of Tubetech, Inc. based in East Palestine, OH.
The purchase of Tubetech, Inc. further increases Phillips Tube Group’s share in the welded steel tube market. “This acquisition of Tubetech, Inc.’s assets will further the product offering of the Phillips Tube Group and increase our capacity.” said Angela Phillips, President/CEO of Phillips Tube Group. “The acquisition is also expected to result in greater efficiencies and significantly increase our market share,” added Ms. Phillips. Tubetech, Inc. has been a long-term supplier of welded steel tube within the automotive, gas appliance, and lawn and garden industries. Tubetech, Inc.’s assets will be distributed amongst the Phillips Tube Group divisions.
Prior to this acquisition, Phillips Tube Group comprised of Shelby Welded Tube, Middletown Tube Works, Phillips Tube Group of Alabama, as well as ancillary Trucking and Equipment companies. PTG’s growth since 2009 has been exceptional, experiencing record production during years where most of the industry was declining. Phillips Tube Group is led by Angela Phillips, who took over as President and CEO after the passing of her father Ralph Phillips in 2009.
